Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson: Married!

Almost seven months after suffering severe injuries in a fall, Sam Poueu exchanges vows yesterday with Stephanie Anderson.

The former Biggest Loser contestants got married in San Francisco, the bride confirmed on her wedding website, adding that she wore a Vera Wang gown and "wept tears of excitement, relief, joy," while feeling like the "most beautiful woman" the first time she donned the dress.

In September of last year, Poeueu fell from a four-story building and underwent number surgeries, along with extensive rehabilitation. He now works as Biggest Loser Fitness Ridge Resort in Malibu, California.

Poueu proposed to Anderson about a year prior to his accident, during a taping of an episode of The Biggest Loser. We wish the couple nothing but happiness.

Internet speeds drop around the world according to Akamai, adoption rate up

Internet speeds drop around the world according to Akama, adoption rate up

Here's an odd one: average connection speeds around the globe dropped 14 percent to just 2.3 Mbps during the last quarter of 2011. The drop off remains something of a mystery since the data used to calculate that result doesn't include mobile broadband (so its increased adoption can't be dragging down the whole) and Akamai offers no explanation. Still, it's not time to start panicking, just yet. Even though speeds in the US dropped 5.3 percent from the previous quarter, average connection rates are still up significantly over the previous year. Otherwise, things largely stayed the same. Global broadband adoption was steady at 66 percent and the US continued to trail its friends across the Pacific (by a lot) in the race for the fastest Internet connections.

Interestingly, while the number of broadband connections stayed consistent the number of narrowband lines (under 256 Kbps) declined dramatically. Yet, the percentage of the world's population connected to the web managed to increase 2.1 percent quarter over quarter -- and 13 percent for the year. So, while it may seem that the internet had a temporary set back in Q4 of 2011, the long term trends look good. The number of people online is increasing, the average speeds being pulled down by those people is climbing and the number of folks stuck in the dial up era is dropping. To get a copy of the full report hit up the source.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Renew Wedding Vows

Move over, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian marked a year of wedded bliss by renewing their vows this week as well.

LeAnn and Eddie got married April 22 of last year. Friday, they took a romantic trip to Calabasas, Calif., where they decided to exchange I-dos once more.

"We renewed our vows today....it's incredible to thank each other for the past year as husband and wife," Rimes tweeted. "Here's to another great year!"

Mr. & Mrs. Cibrian

LeAnn and Eddie, who were married to Dean Sheremet and Brandi Glanvllle, respectively, when they first got together, have come a long way since then.

Weathering a storm of criticism, they've settled into their new life nicely.

The pair spent time relaxing near the ocean, with Rimes tweeting, "CHILLING....listening to Radiohead and enjoying the view... man and beach :)."

Saturday, the Twitter-loving country singer said, "Eddie and I went climbing on the rocks in the ocean yesterday to see the thousands of crabs. I did not realize til now just how dab I kicked a rock with two of my toes...OUCH."

Ouch indeed … but at least true love heals all woulds, or something.

Congrats on one year, LeAnn and Eddie, and best of luck in year #2!
